Give Your Child the Best Chance
for Long-lasting Success

Youth Villages MYPAC:
Mississippi Youth Programs Around the Clock

What is MYPAC?

Mississippi Youth Programs Around the Clock -- MYPAC -- is a special program developed by the Mississippi Division of Medicaid to provide help to troubled children and their families where they need it most -- at home.

Under MYPAC, families choose a single organization, like Youth Villages, that will provide children's mental health services and coordinate all other services needed by the child and family.

MYPAC counselors come to visit families in their homes at times that are convenient to the families.

The goal is to help the child do well long-term at home, in school and in the community.

By participating in MYPAC, your child should improve his or her behaviors and not have to go away for a long stay in residential treatment.

Why Choose Youth Villages MYPAC?

The Youth Villages MYPAC program gives your child and family the best chance at success!

You will work with a single coordinator who is your partner.

Counselors are experienced in dealing with serious behaviors.

Counselors address the child's problems and help the entire family.

You will learn new skills to cope with your child's difficult behaviors.

You will receive support from your Youth Villages MYPAC counselor whenever you need it, 24 hours a day.

More than 80 percent of the children who leave the Youth Villages programs continue to live successfully at home two years later. They are doing well in school and staying out of trouble with the law.

How Does Youth Villages MYPAC Work?

Your Youth Villages MYPAC coordinator will:

  • Work with a team of people to help you determine an Individualized Service Plan (ISP) for your child and family. The plan will be built around what you need and want for your child.
  • Arrange for any services your child and family may need. Services may include: intensive in-home therapy; individual, group and family therapy; psychiatric services and medication management; in-school support; day treatment; tutoring; and substance abuse treatment.
  • Help your child become a part of positive peer groups and find good role models.
  • Teach age-appropriate personal habits and social skills.
  • Help you set the household rules and supervise your child's schedule.
  • Attend critical school meetings with you and help you communicate with your child's teachers and principal.
  • Make sure your child receives all necessary educational services.
  • Provide you with transportation to meetings and appointments, if needed, and help you find long-term transportation solutions.

What Parents Say About Youth Villages

"Youth Villages gave us our life back. They addressed our problems promptly and didn't drag their feet. I could always contact my counselor if there was an emergency. They handled things the right way, coming to the home and working with us. The plan we set up works. We still use the plan and will keep using it until our daughter is 18."

"Our counselor went out of her way to help my son. She actually listened to me. She helped get him re-enrolled in school and signed up with the YMCA for after school. Our counselor tried different approaches and would come to our home in the evenings when I needed her. She was not going to give up."

"I would refer Youth Villages to anyone. It was great the way I was treated and supported as a parent. It was the best thing for us. They were great, and I learned a lot from them."

Help in Your Home at Your Convenience

One Person -- Through Youth Villages MYPAC, one coordinator is assigned to help your child improve his behavior at home, at school and in the neighborhood. Your coordinator will be your partner in change. In an emergency you can call someone who knows your situation and can be trusted to help.

Call Anytime -- You'll have one person to call when you need help. Most importantly, you can call anytime you need help. Your MYPAC coordinator is available to you 24 hours a day and will come to your home in an emergency at any time -- even if it's 3 o'clock in the morning.

Fits Your Schedule -- The coordinator will come to your home each week to work with you and your child. Coordinators can schedule appointments before or after your work day. Appointments are scheduled at your convenience.
