Youth Villages Mississippi honors local foster parents at Gala set for April 25

JACKSON, Mississippi – Youth Villages Mississippi will honor two local foster parents at its annual Tribute to Excellence Spring Gala on April 25 from 6:30 to 9 p.m.at the Country Club of Jackson.Paying tribute to community individuals who have made significant impacts in the lives of Mississippi children, the event will include cocktails, dinner, a wine ring toss, a silent auction and music from the 601 Live Band. Proceeds of the event will benefit YVLifeSet in Mississippi, which helps former foster youth successfully transition to adulthood.

A local humanitarian, who has done outstanding work as an advocate for children, is honored each year during the gala. This year’s honorees are Youth Villages’ foster parents Frank and Frankie Cameron. Youth Villages foster parents for nearly five years, they serve as church pastors and work daily to help those in their community.“They have been a beacon of light for many children in their community and are wonderful foster parents, dedicated to helping each child in their home be successful,” said Amy Adams, state director. “They have made a difference in the lives of 10 youth as foster parents.“The Camerons were integral in helping a sibling set reunify with their biological mother as they really supported the mother,” Adams added. “They have adopted a sibling set of five, and are currently fostering the sixth child in the sibling group with plans to adopt.”
