Oct 16, 2017

Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam has appointed two YVLifeSet participants – Hailey Brooks and Annemarie Rainwater – to the Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth. The group’s mission is to improve the quality of life for children and families, while providing leadership and support for child advocates. Four young people are included on the 21-member commission.

Brooks is a sophomore in Belmont University’s nursing program. Rainwater is set to graduate this year from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in business management.

Since 1999, More than 11,000 former foster youth have been helped through Youth Villages’ YVLifeSet program. Youth Villages is the largest private provider of services to former foster youth in the United States, and YVLifeSet is one of the country’s only programs validated by results of a large randomized, controlled trial.

The program provides intensive, comprehensive help to young people as they make the critical transition to independent adulthood.
