2025 Red Kite Nite
On May 1, the Youth Villages community gathered in Boston for Red Kite Nite, the annual gala supporting the LifeSet program. Thanks to the generosity of supporters, this year’s event raised more than $850,000, helping bring LifeSet to every young adult who needs it. The evening featured powerful stories, heartfelt moments and a shared belief that every young person deserves the chance to build a successful, independent future.
The event was hosted by Billy Costa, a three-time Emmy Award-winning broadcaster from KISS 108. His energy and personal commitment to young people uplifted the room, especially during the live auction, where he helped raise additional funds by offering a VIP package to Jingle Ball 2025.

Stories that stay with you:

CEO Patrick Lawler, Intercept speaker Lydia, LifeSet speaker James and Youth Villages Executive Director Matt Stone enjoying Red Kite Nite.
The most unforgettable part of the evening came from those whose lives have been directly impacted by Youth Villages’ programs.
James, a LifeSet participant, moved guests to tears with his raw and hopeful story. He entered LifeSet after aging out of foster care, facing homelessness and job instability. With support from his specialist, Anjelica, he found stability and began an ironworking apprenticeship.
“One of the happiest moments was getting my first paycheck,” he said. “It gave me hope and showed me I was on the right path.”
His moving story ended with a powerful message of gratitude:
“My hope is that more kids will lay down in their beds and realize they have nothing to worry about like I did and to know their future is something to be excited about. Thank you!”
Also taking the stage was Lydia, an Intercept mom and teaching professor, who shared the transformation her family experienced after connecting with Youth Villages. With help from their specialist, Sara, Lydia and her sons built tools for emotional regulation, communication and connection.
“They can articulate their needs and feelings, hold boundaries and apologize. Skills many adults don’t have,” she said.
Their stories underscored the power of support, guidance and perseverance.

Red Kite Nite isn’t just a celebration—it’s a catalyst. It’s a night where stories spark change and generosity creates futures.
Thanks to you, we are one step closer to ensuring every young adult—like James—and every family—like Lydia’s—has access to the support they need to heal, grow and thrive.
Thank you for being part of this mission. Hope to see you next year at Red Kite Nite on May 7, 2026!
