Solutions to keeping Oregon foster children in stable homes
With a recent federal class action lawsuit settled over the safety of children in Oregon’s foster care system, one of the issues addressed is the quality and number of foster care placements a child experiences.
Youth Villages helps thousands of children across the country each year, and staff at its Oregon operations say they’re on track to serve 700-800 children in the state alone through their various programs.
One, being Youth Villages Intercept program, designed to prevent families from losing custody of their children to foster care, or if a child already is in foster care, supporting foster families so that child doesn’t move from home to home.
